To the west of Santa Cruz and close to the small town of Esperanza we find the 150 year old fruit and vine growing Finca, La Majadera. The old manor house has recently been lovingly restored with care and sensibility and turned into two holiday homes: La Higuera (the fig) and El Peral (the pear).

The seating on the terrace acts as an invitation to the guests to enjoy the sunny-side of life in picturesque surroundings. Without apparent effort a flower paradise has been arranged on the terrace and directly next to it red apples peep temptingly between lush greenery. No wonder that insiders call the Finca " el pequeño paraiso", little paradise.

The terrace faces the sun in the south. Here the north wind is just a passer-by. The wooded pergola is covered in vines which, in the special way of vines, provide deep shade in the summer and let in light in the winter - most convenient.

Located amid the beautiful garden is the recently newly built pool. Treat yourself to a refreshing swim in an idyllic location.

With stunning views over the outside area, enjoy the small spa area with Jacuzzi. The new facilities guarantee fun and relaxation for adults and children.

La Higuera's large salon is a special gem. The stone walls and high timbers of the ceiling give a special feeling to this room. The quality furniture is in simple but excellent taste and carefully chosen. Everything for tempting meals, cosy alcove seating, a fireplace - all available.

Strips of wood have been used in the traditional way throughout the carefully restored terracotta tiled floor. This technique is still to be found in old Canary churches and halls.

Many typical accents used outside have been continued through to the interior. An example is the salon, where natural stone breaks the pale yellow of the walls, right through to the fireplace where, on cool evenings the warm glow of a fire dances.
