The Casa de Las Piedras is situated close to the historic site of Los Realejos in the north-west of Tenerife and stands next to an enormous Eucalyptus tree - this is a stone-built holiday domicile of archaic character.

This natural stone-built house is the ideal place for a family holiday in almost completely unspoilt countryside. The modern 'castle' is located on a 60.000 hectare sized Finca farming on an organic basis.

This comfortable holiday home is built on a terraced slope (200m above sea-level). From each of the terraces one has breathtaking views across the deep gorges of the Barranco to the waves of the Atlantic ocean.

The Casa de Las Piedras has an absolutely quiet position. The delightful countryside around the house, with its many fruit trees and the flowering gardens, is excellent hiking country. Just about 25 minutes walk down a path takes you to Socorro beach. All other beaches in the vicinity are also easily reached by car.

This is truly naturally built as the stone house has a strong infinity with its surroundings. It is like a castle, a safe refuge defying the elements and offering sanctuary to its guests.

From the stone terrace one has direct access to the large veranda on the upper floor. Here are the three bedrooms and a bathroom.

Comfortable sun-beds are an invitation to a siesta and under the wide sky they are the best place to enjoy the late afternoon sun. From here one has an unbroken view across the ocean, the sky and the mountains, once the kingdom of the Guanchen. If this were a theatre, one would have paid for the best ticket.

The whole of the Finca has been developed. Sturdy wooden railings guide you across the rustic stone-steps to the various holiday homes. Altogether there are seven of them scattered across this charming Bio-Finca. Surrounded by high mountains everything is lushly green, everything in full flower - a fascinating spot.

The large swimming-pool for the guests of the Finca is tucked between the raw stone cliff-face and has a view which takes in the mountains around. Here the visitor can swim lengths in comfort when the ocean is showing its waves.

The visitor may be surrounded by the rough stone of the northern mountain range but a mild climate predominates on the Finca. A sweeping view across the surroundings shows the location of the other houses.
|

The tasteful interior furnishings add to the cosiness and show that here, there was an antique dealer at work. For the choice, careful attention to detail was taken with each item telling a story.

An old wooden bench, basket chairs and a country table. Snug hours can be spent in this stylish but simple ambience. On the ground floor the live-in kitchen leads straight out onto the terrace.

Each piece of furniture is an accent piece. The antique cabinet made of solid wood has been sensitively restored using attractive brass-ware and porcelain knobs. The warm tones of the wood harmonize perfectly with the terracotta tiles of the floor. Here, in the Casa de las Piedras everything relates to each other.

In complete style with the house are the open beams of dark timber. Up to six guests, in the three double rooms, can have sweet dreams and awake refreshed after spending their nights in the attractive beds with basket-weave headboards.
