Casa María and Casa Helena
are two exclusive houses built in what was originally the stables belonging to the Finca La Corona and now after being restored, have been turned into very stylish holiday accommodation in the north of Lanzarote.
The central courtyard has been kept in its authentic and simple style. Certainly, the decorative and lushly flowering marguerite bushes would not have been there in former times.

On the far sides of both the holiday houses generously sized extensions have been built with large window frontage taking into account the fascinating landscape. Here again strong simple lines predominate showing to the best advantage the fine materials and the beautiful structure of the natural stone used in the walls.
Architecture and landscape flow into one another, the garden design being the link. Especially selected bushes provide accents in an almost natural alpine garden together with plants endemic to the island.

Large glass doors open up to the outside the light flooded conservatory-like living rooms, with their many windows. In addition Casa María has a sheltered sun-terrace with seating and a magnificent view of Lanzarote’s landscape and of the sun-set.

Complementing the excellently equipped holiday homes are the grounds, open to all the guests of the Finca La Corona. The large pool, which can be heated in winter, has a salt-water plant, a separate shallow pool for children, a large sun-terrace with comfortable sun-beds and a special barbecue area. In addition all houses have been equipped with mountain-bikes for excursions into the vicinity.
Both the holiday houses are exquisitely furnished, this applies not only to the quality but also to the style and presentation.
| . |
A country charm has been achieved, partly due to the open timber construction and the unusual rounded beams of the ceiling.
Acting as natural spotlights, additional small high windows make the rooms both bright and light.

The kitchen is technically superbly equipped from toaster to dishwasher and offers in addition, with its rustic beams and exquisite built in cabinets, a very handsome ambience.
The cosy dining area in the roomy kitchen has a solid wood table and comfortable seats. A large glass door leads into the courtyard and makes the room light and sunny.
In the tradition of the Finca although on a smaller scale vegetables and fruit are grown. If wished for, the guests can be supplied with the freshly harvested produce ranging from wonderful strawberries to crispy lettuce.

The large bedroom is quite charming, almost romantic with its carefully selected furnishings, wooden ceiling and the small window. The thick stone walls, to be seen in the recess of the window, make for ideal climatic conditions.

The bathrooms of the holiday houses are an especially successful example of an elegant combination of modern and rustic elements.

Walls of natural stone and rock face add a special attraction to this formally simple bathroom. The sunlight through the narrow high window, spot-lights the structure of the stone to perfection.
The small bedrooms each have a French sized bed and a shower-room en-suite.
