It is no coincidence that on looking at the exterior of the building one is reminded of two snail shells (Dos Caracoles). Natural stone against smooth, white-washed segments is a whimsical mix of old canary building tradition and modern architecture.

The curves of the natural stone walls of the buildings, although a typical element of traditional architecture, appear in contrast to the plain house wings, surprisingly modern.

The Finca Dos Caroles on La Palma is a two family villa with a large heated pool and an unusual site. Originally an avocado plantation it is so positioned as to offer a spectacular view of the Atlantic.

The buildings of the villa are placed at the western boundary of the avocado plantation, in the centre of which one finds the landscaped pool with its terrace and sunny lawn. Facing west there is a sweeping view of the Atlantic.

The avocado trees are not just attractive to look at but have, due to their foliage, the advantage of building a shady roof and thus creating an agreeable climate on hot summer days.

By means of the large glazed patio doors this living space becomes light and airy and is extended to include both terrace and garden.
