For the observant guest there is plenty to see on the Finca La Mareta: without haste and with a great deal of feeling in collecting the unusual, the owner has bit by bit integrated collectable items into the ambience of the Finca, for the entrance he was inspired by a historic church porch.
|

Between lush green succulents the paths and steps of natural stone lead the way to the three cottages.

Tucked in between bizarre rock formations this holiday idyll radiates a sense of tranquillity. The reason for this may be the prehistoric sites of the Guanchen hidden from sight under the black lava of the surrounding countryside. Close by one can see evidence of these once inhabitants of the Canary Islands.

|
A trademark of the Finca La Mareta is the careful preservation of old building traditions.
|
300 m² of living space have been integrated harmoniously into an almost tropical garden.
|
|
|
|
The Finca - 100 metres above the ocean - enjoys a solitary position. Altogether ten persons find accommodation in a large (Casa Montaña) and two smaller cottages (Casa Papagayo and Casa de las Flores) with tastefully decorated interior, ideal for a relaxing vacation.

Due to its many fruit trees the Finca is in a way a small Garden of Eden. This, the birds of the area have found out and the occasional parrot from nearby aviaries has made a new home in this paradise.
|
|
|
With its eight by four metres, the swimming-pool is almost a roman thermal bath. The brilliant blue of the water is surrounded by an inviting terrace with seating in cosy niches under palms, succulents and amphorae.
|
Those who prefer to look at the sea just drive to the beach and watch the waves of the Atlantic break on the shore.

The large kitchen of the Casa Montaña reminds one of a comfortable farm kitchen with its country-style accessories. Here is not just room enough for a whole family but also for a couple of stuffed birds, chickens sitting comfortably on a beam under the rafters.
|
|
|
All three houses have snug corner seating placed in a niche. In the Casa Papagayo the guests can enjoy cosy evenings in an ambience that bears witness to the original farming history of the building. The soft red sofas in the separate living room offers the ideal spot for an hour or so with a good book.
|
|
|
A rustic household for two persons is the Casa de las Flores. Almost each piece of furniture is an old family inheritance, beautifully and lovingly maintained. Excellently solved is the planning of the rooms in the two smaller houses with adjacent kitchen, living corner and bathroom.

The high pointed rafters of the Casa Papagayo give a light and lofty touch to the friendly bedroom which has direct access to the garden. This tastefully furnished 'aviary' offers a cosy, quiet and homely holiday domicile.
