In spite of its quiet location, the Casa Virginia is only a few minutes drive from the sea. The beautiful beach of Charco Azul is easily reached on foot after a pleasant half an hour's walk.
|
|
It is a house of some antiquity, framed by the imposing rock formation of the mountains Tamadaba, Faneque and Tirma in the west of the island.

At ninety metres above sea level we find this attractive holiday home surrounded by a colourfully flowering garden. Here, as everywhere on the Canaries, the brilliant purple of the Bougainvillea is a continual source of pleasure to the beholder.
|
|
|
The outside terrace is framed with plants and it is here that the turquoise blue water of the swimming-pool becomes an invitation to take a plunge.

Surrounding the cool water are bizarre volcanic stones and numerous endemic succulents. Here, in the seclusion of fantastic surroundings, this lush garden appears an oasis amidst primitive rock.
|

Located in the nature reserve, "Parque Natural de Tamada", the Casa Virginia is the ideal starting point for extensive walks. The small village of El Risco is only a few minutes distance and it is here that one can procure the produce of the local Fincas.

Under the simple pergola one can enjoy the rustic surroundings: the antique wooden doors, roughly plastered walls, the solid wood table, comfortable wicker chairs and the magnificent view.
|
|
|
Numerous small lights add to the romantic atmosphere of the outside terrace in the evening, an invitation to sit cosily outside. The adjacent kitchen is light and pleasantly furnished and, with a large working surface, offers plenty of room for communal cooking.
|
|
|
The light summer atmosphere is extended to the living-room where the owner's large brilliantly coloured paintings are thrown into relief by the white walls. Dark roof timbers add a contrast to the white paint of the ceilings.
|
|
|
|
The comfortable sofas are covered in pastel floral and striped patterns. The deep blue of the entrance door reflects the colour of the Atlantic ocean.

Favourite pieces and mementos are delightfully combined in the bedroom. The closely woven mosquito-net adds a romantic accent and ensures restful nights.
|
The bathroom has a strong personal note and an atmosphere of almost breathable freshness due to the bright mint green of the walls. These are a perfect foil for the rustic wooden trim.

The Casa Virginia has one double bedroom. Room for a third person is found on the comfortable couch which is easily turned into a cosy sofa-bed.
