Hotel Las Calas is a perfect jewel surrounded by exuberant, flowering nature and situated at the very heart of Gran Canaria. Built in the 17th Century, this delightful country hotel stands in the small village of La Lechuza in the middle of the famous Vega de San Mateo. Using care and with attention to detail, the proud owner Magüi, restored this honourable estate in 1999 and turned it into a beautiful holiday idyll.

|
The exterior of the hotel is a delight to the eyes as in addition to the typical Canary country house style façade, with natural stone juxtaposing with light friendly walls, the carved timber frames of the windows show a strong African influence.

A cared for 'wilderness' surrounds the manor's very beautiful garden.

Large expanses of windows with the typical small panes of the Canaries, flood the rooms with light.

The best description for the special flair of the large public lounge is probably that of 'rustic-romantic'. Here the various stylish elements harmonize perfectly. In the evening in front of the flickering flames of the open fire one can day-dream of adventure tours in the nearby nature reserve, about planning the next golf-competition or thoughts of safaris, after all the west coast of Africa is close-by.
